Tadoussac
Tour overview
Tadoussac is located in ‘La Haute Côte-Nord’, Quebec’s most diverse area for birds. According to eBird, this region ranks #1 in all of Québec for total species recorded, with an impressive 364 species documented.
This is the ultimate Canadian wildlife experience : a mix of songbirds, sea-mammals, landscapes, local culture, and discovery. Warblers and other passerines fill the forests with colour and song, while the rugged coastline and quaint towns provide endless opportunities for sightseeing and wildlife watching. Whether you’re a birder, photographer, or simply a nature enthusiast, this trip offers a true taste of Québec’s wilderness.

Trip Considerations
PACE: Moderate. This is one of the most dynamic and variable tours I offer. Some days will involve hikes, while others may be spent in a single location, quietly observing the waves of migrating birds. The itinerary is flexible and responsive to weather, wind, and bird movement, ensuring we are in the right place at the right time to witness the migration. Every day contains an element of spontaneity, and we’ll adapt to your pace, accommodating your needs whenever possible.
Early starts are possible, around 6:00–6:30 a.m., with full days exploring forests, coastlines, and wetlands. With the advantage of having two guides, participants who prefer a later start can be shuttled to the group without missing key sightings. Lunches may be taken in the field on the longer hikes, while dinners are enjoyed at the airBNB or at local restaurants.
CLIMATE: The weather in Tadoussac in late May can be highly variable. Morning temperatures can feel crisp and chilly, while sunny afternoons may be warm enough for a t-shirt. Rain showers are always possible, so waterproof gear and good footwear are essential. Dressing in layers is strongly recommended to stay comfortable throughout the day, whether you’re hiking, birding, or photographing the migrating waves.
PHOTOGRAPHY: This tour offers full photography support from your guides, who are professional wildlife photographers. They will share their expertise in all aspects of photography, from camera settings and technical tips to composition, lighting, and post-processing. Guidance is personalized to your goals, whether you are looking to improve your skills, capture stunning landscapes, or photograph the incredible birds of Tadoussac in action.
